As a bonus, there’s a reference to a shot from Aladdin (when Belle and the Beast disappear into the clouds on a magic carpet.) I love when Disney films make these kinds of references, though I generally won’t point them out because it distracts from the point of these reviews. It’s one of the best songs from any of the Disney sequel films. “Stories” is a beautiful song, and the shift in animation style is done very well. I have watched it in within the last year and own it on DVD. The Beast’s Castle and the ominous woods stand out to me in particular. The backgrounds and animation are gorgeous throughout the film, and I love the overall atmosphere. It’s one of the only Disney films where I liked every single song ( The Aristocats and Aladdinare also among the very few that hold that honor.) It adds life to the classic fairy tale without making it too cynical or modern, and has a memorable plot and endearing characters. Opinion of the Original Film: 10/10īeauty and the Beastis one of my favorite Disney films, as it is for many people. In fact, I’d say it’s one of the best Christmas specials based on a non-Christmas-related work. While it’s not one of my favorites, nor does it hold a candle to the original film, it’s a decent film in its own right. I’ve seen this film several times before. I remember enjoying the visuals, a few of the songs and the new characters that were introduced, the cynical angel ornament Angelique and the formidable organ Forte. While it wasn’t a film I watched often (due to the Christmastime setting,) I enjoyed it. Strangely, I don’t recall owning the original Beauty and the Beast. Yes, several times, but not in many years. Each year, after that, Christmas is officially over and I take down my Christmas decorations. Epiphany, January 6th, is the twelfth day of Christmas. Although it is still technically Christmastime.

Today I’ll discuss one of the few Disney sequel films with a seasonal theme, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas! Though I would have preferred to post this review before Christmas, life prevented me from doing so. Hello and welcome to Magenta Fantasies Reviews and Ranks Disney Sequel Films!
